Lil Rustlers Rodeo!

I know I've said it before, but I truly mean it when I say Riley had the time of her life tonight! And Keags, Gamas and I were pretty darn close too! It was seriously such an amazing night at none other then the Houston Rodeo!
But this was different then our normally awesome Rodeo experience. Through Easter Seals we were invited to come to the Lil Rustlers Rodeo tonight. That is a program where 50 special needs children are able to participate in a soft rodeo performance, just for them! That means when we arrived Riley was given a tShirt and a cowgirl hat, paired with the sweetest cowgirl named Libbie and escorted into the arena to participate  in several events. She did barrel racing with a stick horse, bull riding on a stuffed bull teeter totter, a cowboy bean bag toss, a calf roping of a wooden cow and her two favorites were petting the day old baby lambs and riding a beautiful horse! At the end she recieved some gifts including a legit belt buckle and a darling trophy! As I side note a sweet participant gave his hat, belt buckle and trophy to Keagan because this was his 4th year in a row. She was obviously thrilled!

was a little nervous about how Miss Riley was going to react tonight, but she absolutely LOVED it! Starting with actually being happy to see the rodeo clowns while waiting to check in which was so shocking! Then once she was paired with Miss Libbie she was ready to ride! She had a ball and was so happy to see us waving to her and cheering so many times from the stands! She stayed at the baby lambs for a long time, insisted on riding the horse twice, and then had to go back and say goodbye to the lambs! She was literally the last contestant out of the arena! And she had pure joy on her face! Nothing makes a momma happier.
Miss Keagan seriously had fun cheering for her sister! She was as sweet as could be, watching, waving and cheering! She also had a lot of fun before the Lil Rustlers Rodeo began, we all did. We arrived early enough to spend some time at the kids carnival and to see the animals. Riley was absolutely giddy on the rides and Keags was beyond thrilled to play games and win prizes! They were darling! Keagan was so kind on the rides and held Rileys hand and made sure she was ok! Just the cutest! Then it was on to see the prized animals and my favorite, the new born animals before our event. After the event we decided to skip the big rodeo and concert in order to get way too much food for dinner (which of course meant a turkey leg and dip n dots for the Keags), and play a few more games before getting home at a semi decent hour. All that had worn us all out!

What a fantastic day to remember forever! It truly was a special and excitedly joyful night for us all! I'm so thankful Gamas could come and experience it with us! And of course she was so helpful. And I'm just so thankful to witness my babies pure joy tonight! If I didn't already know they had so much fun, it would be a little obvious by the three stuffed animals Keags is sleeping with that she won tonight and that Miss Riley is sleeping in her rodeo shirt while she has a death grip on her belt buckle! I'm never going to get that shirt off of her! And now she thinks she's a real cowgirl! But of course she is! She has the belt buckle, trophy and pictures to prove it!
