For the last couple weeks, all three Kikuchi girls have been workin hard to prepare for today! It was finally the day for the first ever Mahaffey 2nd Grade Musical! The darling musical, directed by the awesome Mrs Hatley, was titled "Squirm" and it was quite a show! And I've seen it four times now from helping with practice, the performance for 1st grade and kinder during school hours today, and the parent performance tonight, so I should definitely know!
Keagan was the cutest snake I ever did see who was awesome at singing her one line solo ("you're under arrest"), in saying her part with enthusiasm ("So I guess snakes are good because we eat mice and rats. But look out everybody, here comes the bats!") singing every word to every song and dying because she couldn't do the dance moves of the other classes songs! She even mouthed the words to other people's parts! She was amazing! And so was Miss Riley, my little spider! She looked so big up there and did a fantastic job staying on her spot, doing awesome dance moves including spinning circles to spin a web around her partner, smiling and waving at the audience ! I even heard her sing a little bit! It was seriously SO great! I helped Miss Chantel and those amazing PTO moms with the set a little and did most of the hats/costumes. And we were all SO thankful that Sa, Todd and Gama Linda came to be our cheering section!
Now it would be great if the tune and "today's the day! We're gonna make you squirm!" could not be stuck in my head anymore!
