Chicago Day 3

It really is such a blessing to not only love all of your family members but to truly like them too. It’s one thing to care for someone because they are close relatives but it’s a whole other thing to care about them, to cherish your time with them and to truly want to be a part of their lives! We are lucky enough to feel that way about all of our family and that makes being here in Chicago with the Ginn’s so much more incredible. We are only on day 3 and we’ve already had an amazing time just being together, chatting, laughing, teasing and getting closer with each memory made.

Vicki is an incredible aunt and sister in law. Early this morning she took Riley and insisted that I sleep in! What an incredible gift that is for me! And to sweeten the deal, before anyone else was up the two of them had precious time together. They made pancakes together on the floor where Riley could do it all. And Keagan said they were amazing pancakes! My sleep was pretty amazing too!

Once we got goin, we headed to the Shedd Aquarium! We had a fantastic time seeing so much sea life and we particularly loved the dolphins, penguins and the beluga whales! The girls sure loved the gift shop too and time outside in the gorgeous weather in front of the most beautiful skyline!

For lunch we went to an interesting restaurant at the Water Tour Mall on Michigan Ave called Food Life and these crazy girls always keep the fun rolling! Then I got to hang out with the three little girls while Vicki and Kate had a doctors appointment. We had a really great time in the LEGO and American Girl stores and it was so fun to spoil the 3 of them just a little bit! Keagan and Riley both got a new AG dog and outfit.

After playing in the backyard for a little bit with Bailey the greatest dog in the world, and enjoying talking with Vicki’s sweet mom, we were lucky enough to have good timing and be here to cheer Tess on at one of her softball games! It was perfect weather and a great game that we won so it all felt almost perfect! Oh and Keagan may have had her very first porta potty experience! Ha!

Keagan just knew Tess would win so she had a way to go Tess sign waiting for her. We came home to have a delicious Mediterranean dinner and then had a pretty magical close to a great day as we roasted s’mores together in the neighbors beautiful backyard. Tyler is apparently a professional s’mores maker and doesn’t appreciate Kate lighting her marshmallow on fire so he taught Keagan the best way to get it perfectly golden brown. The s’mores were delicious but the cuddles and laughs were even better! It was an extraordinary ending to a marvelous day and although I am tired it makes me smile that even more fun and memories still await us!
