All Good Things

Our week in Chicago sure was incredible! Words can’t express how thankful we are to the Ginn’s for bringing us there and showing us such an amazing time! It was really hard to say goodbye, but we are happy to be home to see all our peeps here and be in our own beds for a couple of nights before we re-pack for our trip to Hawaii.

Before we left Chicago we still had a ton more fun and we were spoiled even more, which I didn’t even think was possible. Thursday morning, Vicki let me sleep in again while all the girls had a fun morning playing board games together. Then in order for Riley to be healthy for Hawaii, her and I had a super chill day while Keagan partied with Tess. They all went to the country club to swim, golf and have dinner while Riley and I stayed home to go on a walk in the neighborhood, watch a movie and relax. Vicki’s wonderful mom stopped by and had cooked a delicious array of phillipino food for us (some to take home that we’ve eaten today) and Vicki also had the most amazing Italian food sent to us. Totally spoiled! Riley got the rest she needed and Keagan had a blast and sure looked darling in her golfing outfit!

Friday morning we were all guests at a royal tea party, we walked to the cutest neighborhood bakery for breakfast and then Keagan and Tess started creating and writing out their original play “England’s Trouble.” Friday afternoon we had a really fun and crazy last outing. We went to “The Happy Place” which is a pop up museum that is one big selfie/picture taking heaven! Kate’s and Maya’s friends and Sammie joined us for 2 hours of amazingness. There were rooms full of sparkly mirrors, rubber duckies, giant shoes to sit in, confetti spots, a rainbow with a big pot of gold to jump in and so much more! We even had cotton candy, rainbow unicorn Mac n cheese and rainbow unicorn grilled cheese! We had the most entertaining and festive time and sure added a bunch more photos to sort thru on our phones!

Friday night we wrapped up our trip with good food, good laughter and good times! Keagan, Tess and Riley performed there amazing play about a princess who runs away because she didn’t want to be queen and I got Tyler to admit how much he absolutely adores me! My evidence is a kiss on the cheek and I’m pretty sure he cried real tears when we left. Vicki and Kate laid on the bed while I packed and we chatted as long as we possibly could before our exhaustion was just too much from such a fun week!

You know the saying about all good things coming to an end which I’m not sure is always true. But it is true that all the best vacations have to come to an end at some point. We were so sad to leave Chicago on Saturday but we had other good things waiting at home. Besides seeing the people we missed, we were really happy to have gotten home last night in order to be here for My nephew Evan’s mission farewell today! Bubba is about to give up two whole years to serve and teach the people of Ireland and Scotland who speak the mandarin language and we couldn’t be prouder! He sure is a fantastic kid who gave a fantastic talk and is going to be a fantastic missionary! We are definitely going to miss him but we can’t wait to see all that he will accomplish and who he will become over the next two years!

So many wonderful things going on, and the best part of it is it’s all with our family! Now we rest, do laundry and gear up for much longer flights on our next trip. But once again that is about family too. Keagan and Riley are definitely nervous but excited to be with their dad and Grandma Debbie in Hawaii for the first time since they were infants and meet all their other family members there, especially their only cousin on their dad’s side Tyson! I can’t wait to see Tyson either and his mom Kim, some friends and the island I called home. From Chicago, to Texas, to Oahu we sure are blessed this summer with different adventures. All good things, all good things. Wish us luck getting to and in Hawaii!
