Weird Summer

It's no shock to anyone who knows us that the Kikuchi girls are weird. I tell my girls all the time that being different is a wonderful thing. Life would be so boring if we were all the same! In sticking with that trend we are having a weird start to summer.

Keagan grew another cucumber in her garden and ate it for dinner the other night! Her favorite way to eat cucumbers is to dip them in tomato sauce. Weird.

Riley always gets a weird summer cold at the beginning of the summer. On Tuesday we had a long appointment with Dr Reed doing breathing treatments and narrowly missing an ER visit, thankfully. Oh that weird asthma!

And do most kids undo an entire stack of post it notes and make "post it Angels?" I'm not thinking so.

Yesterday Keags came up with an awesome idea to make box cars out of Amazon boxes and duct tape. Both girls LOVED it! And my little box car babies are rocking messy hair don't care!

Something that is weird on a terrible note is Rileys stupid insurance wants Riley to take a break for a minimum of 3 months from physical therapy. They admit that she needs the PT (obviously!!) but they say she is not progressing quickly enough. This is SO frustrating and disappointing to me! And it comes right on the verge of her beginning to jump for the first time! That just means we will be doing a lot more PT at home I guess. And yes these are pics of her working hard at PT on Monday (her last day) wearing a swim suit, a leotard, pants and her bib! Definitely weird.

This is Keagan hiding from the fly in the kitchen. And of course she put on long sleeves to protect herself from the very scary fly! At least she was doing summer work!

Something that was weird for momma was having a little time to run an errand and do some chores all by myself while the sweet Skidmore girls had the girls over to watch "Zootopia!"

Starting this week, we are doing something new at our house that the girls definitely think is weird. They have to earn  time on their iPads, or tech time. They have tech time punch cards that they earn 15 minute increments on by reading, doing chores, being kind, listening the first time, etc. This is our summer list, extra summer rules and tech time cards.

Riley is keeping up with her weird outfit choices today! She insisted on wearing a ballet leotard, a gymnastics leotard AND her swimsuit all at the same time! All OVER her pajama pants of course. Cracks me up!

And finally today we let our weirdness shine during a fun day with Miss Campbell. Keags and Campbell are cute little cousin friends that can also be pretty competitive together. They played minecraft and pretend zombies all morning. Poor Riley had her brain eaten dozens of times and laughed hysterically! Weird girls! This afternoon I took them to Little Beakers to do awesome science experiments that they loved and then we swam for hours. A pizza dinner by the pool with the Frenchs topped off the fun!

Now my babies are wiped out and exhausted from so much fun in the first four days of summer! I wonder what weirdness the other 10 weeks have waiting for us!
