Snow & Cousins

The first day of this new decade was pretty darn amazing! It was all about cousins and snow so pretty much exactly what Keagan and Riley have been dreaming about! Part of why we came on this trip was because they had sadly never really seen real snow. Well we solved that problem real good today!

We woke up to a winter wonderland as it had snowed all night! Y’all! My baby girls were ECSTATIC! After an awesome breakfast that Sa and Todd  made us we headed out on quite the adventure! The three of us plus Sami and Addie got all geared up which means Keags in Rys in all snow gear from head to toe that they mostly got for Christmas and me in jeans and a jacket. The extra special part of this trip is that the Texas Ginns are also in town to drop Kennedy off at BYU, so we get to hang out with them as well. So we met Kirk, Kari, Campbell and her other cousin Scout at the base of American Fork canyon. Then on snow covered roads, with big flakes still falling we slowly made our way up the canyon. It was so picturesque and scary at the same time! We saw a mountain goat for heaven sakes! We climbed the canyon which is part of the beautiful Uinta National Park for a little while until finally reaching the parking lot at Tibble Fork. Once safely parked I got out of our car to tell Kirk and Kari that this was way too crazy of an adventure for us, that I’m not nearly as cool as them and that we were worried about getting back down the canyon. Thank heavens they talked me off the ledge and got us to stay there! Because y’all!

So! Much! Fun!

Tibble Fork has two big hills to sled on and our amazon sleds rocked! Both girls immediately fell in love with sledding and were absolutely loving all the snow! I’m not sure how much snow they both ate, how many snow balls they threw and how many times they slid down the hill! Aunt Kari absolutely rocked her Aunting today and took Riley down so many times! And Keagan tried all the different sleds going forward and backwards and even off the little jump the girls made. Oh and of course they both made snow angels! The scenery couldn’t have been more gorgeous, especially after all the heavy snowing stopped and the air cleared! It really was an absolutely incredible sight to behold! The actual sledding lasted about two hours which was a whole hour longer then I thought it would and then we all really needed to find a heater and a chick fil a! Our sledding adventure absolutely rocked!

Tonight we headed to my cousin Brooke’s house for a big family New Years Day party that was just amazing! All my Rummage cousins except Justin were there with all their cute kids, my Aunt Tena, the Texas Ginns, the Fosters and us. It’s always so wonderful to spend time with our family catching up and laughing, so much laughing! We had a traditional southern New Years Day meal with collard greens, black eyes peas, corn bread, ham and more. We played such a fun Saran Wrap ball game and just chatted and laughed all night like no time had passed since we last saw each other. Keagan immediately hit it off with my cousins daughter Quinn and Riley was totally loved on all night. What a great time with family that I was SO thankful for! And of course I made everyone take pictures!

Another awesome day packed full of fun had and memories made! We are just so beyond blessed to have these experiences and make these memories together! And tomorrow just might be even better! We won’t have to wait to long to see!
