Shenanigans

The first full week of summer is behind us now. And I think we definitely took full advantage of it! The week just kind of unfolded day by day and looking back we had some great times. My weekly to do list has an unusual amount of items not checked but we made some great memories. I have a hypothesis that this summer is going to be packed full of shenanigans, antics, nonsense, high jinks and good old fashioned monkey business! The girls will be in heaven and I will love most but not all of it. Ha!

We had a blast at the surprise going away party for the Fossati’s. We really love Marisol, Francesca and Alessandro and will miss them so much! Oh and I love all these people that were there too plus the Johnsons and Sharon Brown who are not pictured.

We took two whole hours to “wash” mommy’s car one day. Full disclosure: I spent most of that time sitting IN the car in the air conditioning!

We had a water balloon fight and trips to two different splash pads with Callie one day.

We did chores one day and then swam the day away at the Inverness Pool with the Lakes and lots of other school friends. Yes we are investing in serious sunscreen!

On Wednesday we relaxed and had some much needed down time. That included a little pampering (Keagan has wanted a french manicure forever and of course Riley is always red!) and catching up on Come Follow Me. One of our favorites was the replicas of the widows mites! Then that left lots of time for more shenanigans, what else?

On Thursday we went to Rob Flemming Aquatic Park with Mrs Heather and Calli! We had an absolute blast! I’m pretty sure we went around in the lazy river like a 100 times and Keagan and Calli loved the big slide!

On Friday we took Avery with us to check out a new to us pool in the Woodlands and found quite the gem! With a slide, a climbing wall, a diving board (that Keags flipped off of), a small slide for Riley, a big pool AND a splash pad it was hours of fun for all of us! And what a blessing that no one has gotten sunburned yet!

On Saturday we were privledged to attend a luncheon to celebrate Lisa Kelley with lots of people we love! I laughed and chatted with the ladies while Keags and Riley rode the golf cart around with the girls! It was great! Afterwards we spent some time with Gramas since she was leaving for the summer and then hung out with the French’s all night. You know there were more shenanigans there!

And finally Sunday’s are usually one of my favorite days, but not this Sunday! It was a ROUGH one! There is a point of too much shenanigans! That’s for sure! We did enjoy church though and Keagan was so excited to realize there were popcorn popping trees outside the chapel! We did get our Come Follow Me done and had a great dinner at the Fosters as usual for our Sunday’s. But the rest of it we are just hoping to forget!

This week is VBS week and the girls are incredibly excited!! So hopefully we keep the shenanigans within the safe range! Fingers crossed!
