DPAC

It has been weeks since Keagan and Riley’s DPAC performances and I haven’t known how to even begin documenting it all. How to blog about this incredible experience is still very unclear. But what is VERY clear is that both Keagan and Riley have grown so much and enjoyed every step of it! They both love to perform and love an audience! They both shine on stage! And they both are so thrilled and committed to being apart of a beautiful, encouraging, building community like DPAC.

What a blessing DPAC is to our entire family now! Mrs Shea and Mrs Rachel have created such a beautiful place for these kids to do what they love, to be taught and supported and to be a piece of something good. Both girls have worked very hard all semester with their cast mates that became family! All three of us looked forward to Tuesday afternoons and nights where they got to be with their music theater peeps. We practiced lines and songs at home and in the car. They survived a serious tech week schedule during the busiest week of our year so far. And the end results of all that work was fantastic!

“School House Rock Live Jr” was Keagans 3rd musical with DPAC, and her favorite one so far! This show was just for kids 3rd-6th grade and had a lot of new talented friends in it. It was super upbeat, super fun and I’m pretty sure we are going to be singing the music for years to come! The show was double casted so on Thursday and Saturday night Keagan played Shulie as one of the leads and sang two solos “Adjectives” and “Interplanet Janet” in her glow in the dark green wig! On Friday night and Saturday afternoon she was apart of the chorus and had a blast in all 4 shows. She comes alive on stage and every tiny part of her body is performing. Her facial expressions have got to be my favorite next to her incredible booming voice. Her favorites were her solos, the dancing, her hula hoop tricks in one song and all the shenanigans back stage!

This was Riley’s first semester with DPAC and she joined the “Let’s Make a Musical” group to put on a short Disney review. They sang and danced to “Can’t Wait to Be King,” “Bear Necessities,” “Won’t Grow Up,” and “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes.”  They were the darling preshow before Keagans show and Riley was beyond thrilled to have her own turn on stage! She loved all the attention and just beamed while she was up there of course! I’m pretty sure she believed everyone was there just to see her! Mrs Shea and Mrs Rachel just showered her with love and her cast was sweet and patient with her! It was a great little show because their cute factor was off the charts!

We were SO thankful for all the love and support during the shows! Mrs Dede, Audrey, Mrs Krenek and Lauren all came to opening night. Then Saturday night the girls had quite the cheering section with Sa, Todd, Kellie, Addie and her boyfriend David, Gramas, Coach and even Riley’s teacher Mrs Acosta and her husband! Keagan and Riley both love to perform but they enjoy it even more when there are people in the audience that they really love! I of course went to all 4 shows cause I just can’t imagine missing any chance at seeing my babies do what they love!

We just can’t get enough of DPAC so in August both girls will do a week long camp and then when school starts, new DPAC shows will begin rehearsal and we are signed up and ready! We feel so blessed to have found this incredible organization and be apart of something special, the DPAC family!

Now get ready for picture overload! And lots of photo credit here goes to Kimography.

THE BEST!
