Like for example, I keep asking myself are you sure Keags and Rys are done with 3rd grade and are now 4th graders?! How is that even possible?! 3rd grade was a challenging year that took a lot of hard work for all of us. But it was also one full of growth, progress, fun, friendships, experiences and lots of lasting memories!
Look at the difference between the first and last day of 3rd grade!
Last Day of School pics...
Both girls were SO blessed with the best of the best in teachers this year! Keagan will love Mrs Merrbach forever and Riley will NEVER forget the dream team of Mrs Merillat, Mrs Brown and Mrs Akers! Unfortunately that team is splitting up next year and none of them are going to be in Riley’s class next year which is completely devastating! We understand their reasons but we’ve been asking Mrs Merillat for months “are you sure you want to retire?!” A couple of weeks ago I was happy to be a part of celebrating her at a retirement party and Riley and I both loved celebrating the dream team and the whole class at their annual end of year party! We had a tastey lunch, enjoyed all of the amazing owl decorations and I completely bawled my eyes out during the amazing 15 minute slide show of all that class accomplished this year and the handing out of awards! Riley received the “brings out the best in others” award deservingly and will forever miss her teachers and her best friend Julia who is moving on to intermediate school next year!
I’m also still asking are you sure that’s my kid?! That’s all I could think in between my tears when Keagan was performing in the talent show in front of the whole school on the last day! She has so much courage and worked so hard to get ready to sing “Never Enough@ from The Greatest Showman soundtrack, and it paid off! She had such poise, stage presence and amazing vocals that I was shaking with emotion while videoing! She was absolutely incredible! And we are thankful for our awesome LAMP team who organized and put on such a great show to give her that opportunity!
Oh and I’m also proud of her for getting one of the few PE awards for 3rd grade! Apparently when her name was called Riley was SO proud of her sister and freaked out so that everyone would know it!
And I’m also still asking are you sure Bubba is old enough to graduate high school?! We were thrilled to be apart of My nephew Evan’s graduation celebration and are SO proud of him!
So I’m still not too sure about those things! But I am sure it is officially summer 2018! I’m sure I took the girls and Lauren to the splash pad right after school on the last day and let them go crazy completely clothed! I’m sure we’ve already swam til we are tired, been thru lots of costumes with Riley and done lots of “science experiments” with Keagan! And I’m sure there is a whole lot more fun to come!!
Here’s to a happy summer! I’m sure about that!
