San Antonio Day 3

Because I am flat out exhausted, let’s switch things up a bit and start out on the down side of things. Here is what I am NOT happy about from today. I completely forgot it was St Patrick’s Day and not a single one of us was wearing green. My car looks like a pack of wild dogs have been living in it. I almost started a fire in our hotel room this morning when my blow dryer started shooting out sparks.  The reality of the money I spent on this trip that I shouldn’t have is setting in. And Spring Break is now over and we are back to the real world. But even with all that crap, our last day in San Antonio was full of amazing moments and memories I never want to forget!

We actually got to sleep in past 8 this morning! Thank you white noise app! After being lazy, we hit the hotel buffet and then got up to the rooftop pool. According to Miss Keagan it is just not right to stay in a hotel with a pool and not swim! Apparently if you don’t swim it doesn’t even count as a hotel stay! I hadn’t brought my suit and was worried but that Keagan is one incredible sister who carried Riley around the pool and spun, jumped and played with her! It was the most perfect hour of us on the roof all alone giggling and swimming. That was sweet moments I hope I never forget. Then once Riley was too cold and wanted to snuggle in layers of towels, (don’t mind if i do) Keags wanted to make silly videos of course. That’s her go to these days and she’s pretty cute at it!

After showers, more laziness, and checking out of the hotel, we hoped on a double decker tour bus close to our hotel for a full view of the city. The tour was great and an entertaining type of informative. We could have hoped on and off but our only stop was the Alamo of course. The crowds were insane so we didn’t do the tour but we were on that hallowed Texas ground, read all the signs outside, visited the empty tomb monument and even had snow cones and people watched the crazy crowd from the shade.

And finally, the cherry on top of a fabulous vacay in the Alamo City was an early dinner at the one of a kind Magic Time Machine! I’m SO glad we persisted and went there, because we had SO much fun! Crazy decor, a car that holds the salad bar, a balloon artist, a face painter and most importantly all employees are dressed as a character and in full character all night. Our waitress was Catniss and did magic tricks with dry ice for us, made us play the toilet game, scared us repeatedly and really made us laugh! The kids menus double as autography books so we went around to Elsa, Moana, Ace Ventura, Forrest Gump, Harley Quin, Captain Jack Sparrow, Elsa, Moana, and so much more! Napoleon Dynamite teased guests to “eat your vegetables you fat lard!” The crazy cat lady talked to us about cats and Disgust talked about how she was disgusted that everyone was also wearing green. Draco Malloy used his wand to poke holes thru the autograph books and yelled at us Muggles. Major Payne teased Keagan and made her do 20 perfect pushups for not wearing green right in the middle of the restaurant. And Nacho Libre held Keagan’s face while screaming, colored her neck and told us he likes us more then he loves sweats! Seriously we had so much fun! Food was decent but the entertainment was unparalleled! The MagicTime Machine and all its hilariousity was the best way to end our trip!

Another long drive went by great with the girls tired and tuned out. We did have a gas spill at Bucees when I was teaching Keags to pump gas so that was fun. But we made it home safe into our own beds which are pure heaven! We are pretty exhausted but our hearts are so full of love for one another and the special moments we get  to experience together this week! I am truly SO thankful for all we were able to see and do, for our safety and for great quality memory making time together. Unfortunately now it’s back to the real world.

Spring Break 2018, man you were good to us! Thanks for all the memories and all the fun! And when do I actually get that break part?! Cause I’m exhausted!

  2. So glad we can give comments now. I have been reading your blog off and on for years now and can't get over praising our Creator for giving you such amazing children and for giving such an amazing mom to them. You are an especially one blessed family. I remember when I was raising my five kids that I would have paid millions (if I had millions) to be able to sleep about 20 hours a day. As you know the years go by quickly and now that I have no responsibilities and can sleep whenever and for as long as I please, that I would trade anything to be a sleep deprived mama raising my treasures. I love that you treasure every second and live in the spirit of thanksgiving.
