Spring Break Part 1

Oh happy day! Oh happy day! It’s Spring Break y’all! Tomorrow we road trip! We are excited for a fast and furious trip just over to San Antonio. But the first half of our Spring Break has been pretty great too! Our standard MO each day besides Sunday has been lazy mornings, some chores and then super fun afternoons and nights. This break and quality time has been just what we didn’t realize we needed.

After chores (that Miss Keagan has been rocking by the way) on Saturday we had a fun night at the food truck park with Sa and Todd and then went to hang out with the Ginns. People I’m talking Japanese food, puffy egg waffle sundaes and pizza in a cone! Yum! Oh and we can’t ever pass up corn hole!

Monday afternoon we went with Heather and Callie Reeves, Kathryn Hall and Henry to the absolute coolest exotic and endangered animal park! We had a two hour tour of TGR Exotics that is such a huge hidden gem in our community! We got tons of info and up close and personal with pigs, goats, llamas, sloths, porcupines, armadillos, a water buffalo, a Hyena, apes, kangaroo, tortoises, a pony, tons of monkeys including one that smiled on command, lots playing and showing off, and one howler, birds, capybara, linx, a vulture, brown bears and more! We had an absolutely amazing time in perfect weather! A selfie with a llama always signals a fabulous time in my opinion! Riley loved the animals but felt safe in her stroller or mommas arms and Keagan brought a measuring tape to measure the animals she could and a little notebook to take notes! Those two girls are even cuter then those poo-key-pines that we loved!

Monday night we had dinner with the Fosters and hung out with the French’s until way past my bed time! Man that bestie of mine sure makes me laugh and stay up way too late!

So Tuesday was another lazy morning and then a trip with Heather and Callie again to a brand new accessible park in Houston. It had only been open two days, we were the only ones there and it was amazing! Not only was it such a fun park with lots of different things to do. But it was the first time Riley has ever been able to just go and play at the park and not need any help! It was awesome and all the girls had a blast!

Oh these sisters!!

Tuesday night was fantastic! We met Eric, Meghan, Noah, Phoebe and even Helen and Chantel, Kayle and Lauren at the very fun and funky Shack for dinner. We sat outside in the perfect weather and chatted for hours while the kids played in the eclectic and amusing play yard of abandoned buses and dirt piles. I love these kids and their parents and nights like that remind me how thankful I am Mahaffey brought us all together!  Everyone was grinning ear to ear and especially Keagan and Lauren who got to continue their play date with a late night (since we don’t do sleepovers).

Today was another lazy morning then a haircut for Riley, errands, doctors appointments and packing. And of course we are a pizza pie for Pi Day today for dinner. Although it took 2 hours out of our already busy day, after I was done being super frustrated, I realized it was a blessing my car told me I had a hole in one tire this morning. I’m thankful I was able to get that fixed today and all the fluids topped off before our trip bright and early tomorrow!

I just love making memories with these sweet girls and Im thankful for the fun ones we’ve made over the last couple of days! Now I’m looking forward to all the fun memories we are about to make in Spring Break Part 2!

Road trip!
