Empty Bucket

I gotta be honest. I’ve been kinda struggling lately. I’ve been struggling for a million little reasons and for really nothing big at all. You know sometimes those little things just pile up right when your head is already going swimming and your heart is a little fragile. Either way my bucket is just empty. I don’t have much to give cause I’m just struggling to keep going right now. I have been trying so hard to follow this Holy Week and focus on the very real and very beautiful reason for Easter. I am very thankful that this holiday is coming when it is because it’s all about renewal which is exactly what I need. I know the focus on my Savior and the reminder that He lives, has conquered death and born all my sins and heartache because He loves me will be very renewing to my soul. I’m hoping this Easter weekend is going to fill my bucket right back up and that worrying about paying bills, seizures, state testing, drama at work, allergies, auto immune stuff, making mistakes and not making the best momming choices will fall by the wayside as my bucket runeth over. I can feel it coming!

Meanwhile we’ve been pushing thru and I’ve been doing my best in the girls waking hours while I pray they aren’t noticing that I’m just down right exhausted and spent! Between play dates, baseball being back in season (SO much fun) busy activities at school including Speddy Scottie’s of course, adding dyslexia tutoring to Keagan’s schedule, extra time preparing for Keagan’s musical including a set painting day, Riley getting a new “job” at school, and the typical daily hub bub of our crazy life, I’m pretty sure the girls have been too busy to notice my empty bucket. Not that I would have it any other way!

Play dates galore! They are so happy when friends come over!

The cutest class pics ever!

Pickle Chiffon Pie rehearsals make Keags SO happy!

Ice cream with the Smith-Flores family

Baseball is back! We love our Angles! Some sweet girls from Keagan’s cast came to volunteer and the two Little boys also came and were so sweet! Riley loved having Langston as a buddy!

Set day. I’m telling you Keagan has LOVED this process!

And Riley loves her new “job” at school working the Friday Coffee Cart for staff who placed orders at school. They follow recipes, make deliveries and offer customer service. It is literally the cutest thing ever! Riley absolutely loved it and I’m not lying when I say it was the best hot chocolate I've ever had!

Speedy Scottie’s!

Keagan taking control and holdin it down on what has got to be the cutest church bench ever with Layla and LaBelle!

And I do really like all the pics above-a lot. But these next ones really make me smile! Riley celebrating Easter at school yesterday before we got out for Easter break today and tomorrow including the cutest pic of her and her bestie Julia. How cute are they?!

See this is the beginning of the Easter goodness that I am just waiting to come fill my heart and my bucket! I can’t wait! Because seriously, this momma has got to get it together people! And nothing can do that like the Savior!

Literally, thank heaven! #BecauseofHim

San Antonio Day 3

Because I am flat out exhausted, let’s switch things up a bit and start out on the down side of things. Here is what I am NOT happy about from today. I completely forgot it was St Patrick’s Day and not a single one of us was wearing green. My car looks like a pack of wild dogs have been living in it. I almost started a fire in our hotel room this morning when my blow dryer started shooting out sparks.  The reality of the money I spent on this trip that I shouldn’t have is setting in. And Spring Break is now over and we are back to the real world. But even with all that crap, our last day in San Antonio was full of amazing moments and memories I never want to forget!

We actually got to sleep in past 8 this morning! Thank you white noise app! After being lazy, we hit the hotel buffet and then got up to the rooftop pool. According to Miss Keagan it is just not right to stay in a hotel with a pool and not swim! Apparently if you don’t swim it doesn’t even count as a hotel stay! I hadn’t brought my suit and was worried but that Keagan is one incredible sister who carried Riley around the pool and spun, jumped and played with her! It was the most perfect hour of us on the roof all alone giggling and swimming. That was sweet moments I hope I never forget. Then once Riley was too cold and wanted to snuggle in layers of towels, (don’t mind if i do) Keags wanted to make silly videos of course. That’s her go to these days and she’s pretty cute at it!

After showers, more laziness, and checking out of the hotel, we hoped on a double decker tour bus close to our hotel for a full view of the city. The tour was great and an entertaining type of informative. We could have hoped on and off but our only stop was the Alamo of course. The crowds were insane so we didn’t do the tour but we were on that hallowed Texas ground, read all the signs outside, visited the empty tomb monument and even had snow cones and people watched the crazy crowd from the shade.

And finally, the cherry on top of a fabulous vacay in the Alamo City was an early dinner at the one of a kind Magic Time Machine! I’m SO glad we persisted and went there, because we had SO much fun! Crazy decor, a car that holds the salad bar, a balloon artist, a face painter and most importantly all employees are dressed as a character and in full character all night. Our waitress was Catniss and did magic tricks with dry ice for us, made us play the toilet game, scared us repeatedly and really made us laugh! The kids menus double as autography books so we went around to Elsa, Moana, Ace Ventura, Forrest Gump, Harley Quin, Captain Jack Sparrow, Elsa, Moana, and so much more! Napoleon Dynamite teased guests to “eat your vegetables you fat lard!” The crazy cat lady talked to us about cats and Disgust talked about how she was disgusted that everyone was also wearing green. Draco Malloy used his wand to poke holes thru the autograph books and yelled at us Muggles. Major Payne teased Keagan and made her do 20 perfect pushups for not wearing green right in the middle of the restaurant. And Nacho Libre held Keagan’s face while screaming, colored her neck and told us he likes us more then he loves sweats! Seriously we had so much fun! Food was decent but the entertainment was unparalleled! The MagicTime Machine and all its hilariousity was the best way to end our trip!

Another long drive went by great with the girls tired and tuned out. We did have a gas spill at Bucees when I was teaching Keags to pump gas so that was fun. But we made it home safe into our own beds which are pure heaven! We are pretty exhausted but our hearts are so full of love for one another and the special moments we get  to experience together this week! I am truly SO thankful for all we were able to see and do, for our safety and for great quality memory making time together. Unfortunately now it’s back to the real world.

Spring Break 2018, man you were good to us! Thanks for all the memories and all the fun! And when do I actually get that break part?! Cause I’m exhausted!
