Groundbreaking

Last Friday, Riley was invited to be a part of the groundbreaking for the new Texas Children's Hospital in The Woodlands. We just love TCH and are happy to do anything we can for them! Plus we are thrilled that we are going to have one so close to us, even though it won't be complete until 2017.

The event was in a beautiful tent on the site, with a whole lot of fancy people in attendance. I can totally hang with doctors, etc but philanthropists are out of my league. Case in point, there was a couple there who brought their dogs whose little doggy outfits were more expensive then what I was wearing! But it was so fun to be apart of the festivities.

Riley of course brought her own fan club to the event. It was so nice of Nana, Sa, Gama Linda, Uncle Kirk and Aunt Kari to attend! We enjoyed the presentation about the history of the hospital and the groundbreaking itself. And then it was time for the real highlight! Riley joined three other children who are treated at TCH and the CEO, Mark Wallace to blow out the candles on an amazing cake! The cake was an awesome replica of what the hospital will look like and was created to celebrate TCHs 60th birthday.

Riley did great with her huge smile on her face! I think it was clear she rather enjoyed being a little bit of a star for a minute! And I really enjoyed watching her!

TCH sent out a press release that included Riley's name. It was all over the place even including cnbc.com and The Chronicle. Shots from the newspaper...

For the millionth time...thank you Texas Children's!
