Everyone arrived Tuesday night and we stayed up way past our bedtime talking and catching up while the girls jammed to Hamilton of course and were just thrilled to be together. After a 2 am bedtime we were all thankful to sleep in a little before heading to Surfside beach. Minus Taryn’s tent snapping and me having to make a quick run to Buccees for some beach umbrellas, we seriously had the most magical day at the beach! The weather was perfect, the waves calmer then I have ever seen them, and the company was exceptional. We saw dolphins swimming when we never had there before, a pelican swam very close to Kari and Campbell, we went for a Long Beach walk, played in the sand and water and laughed and talked til the sun went down. It was pretty much amazing!
You would have thought over 7 hours at the beach would have tired these girls out but they still partied late into the night again! So day two started late with donuts and kolaches, then board games and the girls begged to wash my car while the moms all decided to be lazy and just watch a random romantic comedy in the middle of the day! It was fantastic! In the afternoon we went to go swim for a little bit at the Hall-Browns house and Nana even tried to come join us but got stopped by a dead car battery. Fortunately, Nana still got her time in with everybody and was able to have some great moments with the girls telling them how proud her and Pakka are of them and how happy they are that they are together! That night we got Lupe Tortilla fajitas per the Chicago Ginns request and had Kellie, Justin, Taryn and Reagan join us for a big, loud, fun family dinner! We chatted for hours and informed Kellie and Justin of the not so pretty side of having a baby, you know as good birth control! We chatted and laughed about all things mom life while the girls were all upstairs having a blast listening to Hamilton and/or giggling about who knows what.
Day 3 was another lively day to remember for sure! Unfortunately Kari had to go back to Austin but Vicki and I took the 4 girls to Michaels to pick out something to paint. Each girl got to create their own masterpiece and of course we had to listen to Hamilton and sing along at the top of our lungs! But dinner was the days highlight! I’m pretty sure dinner will be something none of us ever forget. Per Vicki’s idea and my delight, we made spaghetti and meatballs but did not use any plates or any silverware to eat it! We poured all the food out on a thick vinyl tablecloth and surprised the girls with quite the spread! They were thrilled to dive right in and everyone even including Nana (after she got over her initial horror) had a blast eating with their hands! Riley giggled the whole time and the best part is very easy clean up! It just all goes in the trash! We even did the whole lady and the tramp thing and filled our tummies! It seriously was so much fun! And we just couldn’t stop the fun so we went night swimming at the Whitney’s. Keagan was thrilled to introduce her cousins to one of her besties and they all had a blast together while Vicki and I loved chatting with Chelsea. After showers we played a few games including Cover Your Assets, the Funky Chicken where Vicki and I laughed so hard we almost peed our pants and the Ha game! Oh man we had such a great time!
This blog shows how important family and making memories are to me! They are my favorite, so bringing them together is just heaven! That’s what these three days were! The perfect way to close out the endless summer. Three days with cousins was our cherry on top! Cause cousins make the BEST friends!
