Almost Too Much Fun!

Keagan and Riley have only a few more days left as 11 year olds. And they have finished their 12th trip around the sun in true Kikuchi girl fashion- having lots of fun creating memories with the people they love!

To be honest they are on the verge of almost having too much fun! There are lots of happy girls in our house lately who may need to focus on school and family responsibilities just a little more. But I’m thrilled that they are adjusting to middle school so well! They both LOVE Doerre and are doing great! Keagan has figured out how to use a padlock on her locker, can finally sit with her friends at lunch and is seriously making tons of new friends. She gets to semi walk home (half way) on Monday, Wednesday and Friday with a big group of DPAC friends and she loves that! Riley is also having a blast and loving school. She is actually purposely stalling to go late to choir so everyone in the class stops and says “Riley!” That girl cracks me up! I’m SO happy they are both doing so well there!

DPAC is in full swing and we have Suessical rehearsal Tuesday night, Keags has a dance class on Wednesday night and both girls go to Ovation on Thursday night. Since Keagan told me she would rather be at DPAC then breathe (not dramatic at all) I’m pretty sure they are thrilled to be there so much! Both girls are excited to be getting into costume so I don’t know why Keagan is so embarrassed by my princess face shield I wore to match Riley’s!

We went back to church for the very first time since quarantine this past Sunday and enjoyed it. The girls are also back to having socially distanced young women’s activities and are thrilled with that! Keagan and Claire taught their class a Sunday lesson over zoom in becoming more Christ like and did great! And Keagan is still serving as the first counselor in the presidency.

We’ve had lots of fun play dates and family dinners. The girls went to two birthday parties and got together with friends twice to go decorate another friends yard for their birthday and surprise them! We had a successful garage sale with Mrs Taryn and mostly Mrs Taryn’s stuff. We helped the Frenchs move, have hung out at their new place a bunch including loving their new trampoline and celebrated Mrs Taryn’s birthday with breakfast and pedicures while the kids were at school! FYI my first pedicure in 10 months was heaven!

We had Friday and today off school for fall break! Friday the girls hung out with Claire and today we kept our going to the beach during fall break tradition alive! We went to Surfside with the Whitney’s and Hall-Browns and had a total blast! The Thayne’s joined us later too! The kids were all goofy, silly and loud and I’m pretty sure Riley’s abb’s must be sore from laughing all day and Keagan was in heaven with friends! I was the lucky one to make the 1.5 hour trip each way with 6 middle schoolers but I secretly love it cause I love them!

I’m sure I’m missing bunch of stuff we did! But the girls had another lunch date over FaceTime with their dad. We got to have a great dinner with Dan and Amber VanWorkem at our house when they were in town for 24 hours as Mallory went thru the Houston Temple. Riley has watched way too many videos of different Suessicals on YouTube and Keagan has texted and/or emailed with her DPAC friends WAAAAU too many times! But you are only 11 once right? So they are just making it count!

I just have a feeling that 12 is going to be even more exciting then 11! I guess we start unraveling that mystery in two days! I can’t wait to see what it has in store!
