Let’s Get Down!

After the craziness that May always is, the three Kikuchi girls, just like most people,  really needed a little R and R! So for this first week of the summer I told the girls “hey let’s get dooown!” As in “momma needs some down time, and she needs it bad!”

Weeks ago I had decided that I would completely give myself full permission to just chill this week! I still managed all the daily basics for keeping our lives running smoothly and we still fit in a ton of fun, but getting down time was the goal. And we really did spend more time chillaxin this past week then we did the entire month of may! Let’s just say our couch has been used to the fullest in the last seven days!

We did have to spend one long and frustrating afternoon of VERY interesting people watching at the Social Security office, and of course we had at least one doctors appointment. But everything else was quite enjoyable (oh besides Riley being SUPER naughty at church today! That girl!)

We got to have Reagan spend the night when Mrs Taryn went to girls camp a day early and got to be Uber drivers a couple days to chauffeur different friends around. I got to celebrate nana and pakkas 50th wedding anniversary with a yummy adults only dinner while the girls were babysat by Kennedy, we bared the insane heat for a little bit at an accessible park and we watched some of our favorite movies! The girls went swimming with the Ginn’s at two different pools for one afternoon, we borrowed the Hall-Browns pool like they’ve been so generously offering for years on another afternoon with the Reeves ladies, and we had some classic summer fun with water balloons and the hose one day. We went to the summer reading program kick off party at the library where we ran into lots of school friends and  we played games together, made a craft, worked on a puzzle and took pics. We had a blast at Little Beakers doing science projects with the Lakes like making slime, stress balls and popping the tops off rockets. And we really enjoyed a fun play date with the Johnsons and Fossati’s in the air conditioned fun at Trinity Lutheran Church where Tristans’s dad is a pastor. And the HUGE news of the week is that our FREE Waterslide came on Friday and we’ve already had SO much fun on it though it barely fits in the backyard and it is quite difficult to get Riley up the slide. But still, we own a Waterslide people!

So the following crazy amount of pics will show a lot of fun that we had this last week, but I promise we got a lot of down time too! I have the lighter color bags under my eyes to show for it! I really do. So the dark colored bags under my eyes and all three of us in general enjoyed  the down time while it lasted because this coming week may be a little crazier. And maybe this week Riley will agree to wearing her swimsuit when needed too!
