Room Mom

I signed up to be Keagan's class Room Mom. I'm really not sure what I'm getting myself into but I figured I need to be involved, helpful and know people and what is going on in the girls lives for 7 hours a day, 5 days a week!

Yesterday I got my first dose. I went to help Mrs Serees with the afternoon math centers. Wow a kindergarten classroom sure is busy! Mrs Serees is on her game and good at keeping that crazy show running! Keags is one of fifteen cute 5/6 year olds and most of them are so darling I can barely stand it! But a few of them...not so much!

It was a little bit of a stressful hour and a half trying to get the kids to finish a project in time. But it brought a HUGE pay off that I was not expecting! My Keags was thrilled that I was there! She hugged me nine times and told me "you're the best mom ever!" I don't know any mom that wouldn't want to hear that! The mommy points were amazing! If they continue then I just may have to be at that school everyday!

As an extra bonus, before the class got back from recess I got a little sneak peak at the cute classroom and things Keags has been talking about!

Type A

Like most prayerful Mommas, I pray every night that I can be the kind of mom each of my girls needs. Well yesterday I learned a big lesson, that you would have thought I would have already learned.

Wednesdays are going to be a little bit crazy around here. I check Riley out of school for her and I to go to her therapy from 1-4. When the time comes I leave her therapy to pick up Keagan from school and take her back to therapy with me. And then Keagan has gymnastics from 4:30-5:30.

Well I forgot one of Keagans cardinal needs before yesterday came. I did not prep her! I had not properly explained our plans in advance to her like I usually do. Big momma mistake!

Sweet Keagan's type A personality (which she totally gets from Aunt Sa) doesn't do spur of the moment well. Especially, especially when she is tired. Yesterday was the perfect combination of her being tired after school and that I occasionally forget this. Needless to say, we went ahead and skipped gymnastics, which she loves by the way.

Next week she will be prepped and ready! Oh how I love this girl who pushes me to be a better momma!

Another Step!

My hero has reached another huge step in her accomplishments! Riley bug is just accomplishing things left and right that "they" said she would never do! It makes my heart swell and my eyes leak to see her hard work, determination and partnership with The Lord pay off!

She's a miracle! She's a rockstar! A rockstar that conquered four 2 inch steps all by herself yesterday!!

Atoning Love

A sweet friend sent me something today that had two quotes in it that hit me very strongly!

Elder Russell M Nelson said "We all need to remember; men are that they might have joy-not guilt trips!"

And Elder Gerrit W Gong said "understanding the Saviors freely given atoning love can free us from self imposed incorrect and unrealistic expectations of what perfection is. Such understanding allows us to let go of fear that we are imperfect. Fears that we make mistakes, fears that we are not good enough, fears that we are a failure compared to others, fears that we are not doing enough to merit His love."

I know our Savior loves us more then we can even comprehend. And I am eternally thankful for that love and the blessings that flow from it! I hope to understand it more and apply it to the cracks in my life and heart that I have faith it can heal! That faith comes from knowing it has already done just that so many times over!

Farewell

Today we celebrated with our cousins the Sundwalls as Weston leaves this week for his LDS mission to Denver, Colorado. It's always great to catch up with family from far away and not so far away, attend church together and be taught by the spirit, and you know dress up as a Cougar football player and Ironman with pearls on!

Make Over

My sister is a genius! Plain and simple.

She truly is the most talented decorator and organizer that this world just may have ever seen. And to prove that, she redid Keagan and Riley's rooms today as exhibit A and B!

She has been working on the pieces for weeks and put it all together this morning. I did nothing more then what she told me to and swipe my debit card for the few things that we didn't up cycle from Nana's house. She on the other hand has done a ton of work. She may just love my girls a wee bit.

I am absolutely THRILLED with the finished product! I just want to sit in there the rest of the day!

Thank you Sa! A thousand times over!!

Day 2 Success!

Both girls were exhausted last night after their first full day of school. But they both woke up very excited to go back!

On the way into school (last day I could walk her in) Keagan let me hold her hand today! It was glorious!

Both girls were happy at pick up and I got a lot more info from Keags today then yesterday. Maybe she wasn't so overwhelmed by it all now.

And no tears from momma today, so it was a success!
