Here We Go, Go, Go!

Today could be considered the beginning of Spring Break! Hallelujah!! We have fun things planned of course but today is rainy and we are still in our jammies. This break is coming at the perfect time! We are excited for some quality fun time. But before that we needed a do nothing day after what has been go, go, go!

Like always, the Kikuchi girls have been busy! We have been on the move...

Practicing tennis

Visiting the book fair!

Working super hard at school including Riley impersonating the cutest Thomas Jefferson ever!

Going to Spirit Night at Spring Creek BBQ!

Catching up with our beloved Miss Evans!

Taking a gazillion selfies on mommmy's phone!

Completing Keagan's monthly family STEM project- something that floats

Devouring our souvenir treats from the French's east cost trip! Our favorite- HUGE gummy colas from Dylan's!

Meeting Lester the gorgeous and huge Clydesdale!

Getting Girls Day gifts from Grandma Debbie and from Jiji and Auntie Nene! Thank you!

Hangin with friends and fam of course including watching Addie work her organization magic on our pantry!

Shopping at Hobby Lobby where the children wore mommy down and got out of there with their new prized processions!

Dressing up for and participating in friendship week and the friendship walk at school!

And joining a fun new group at school called the Unicorn Girls! This mix of girls will meet once a month to do service projects, crafts, etc.

And many, many more not pictured including mommy's new calling as the secretary of the Relief Society or women's ministry at church.

So along with all of that we have literally been on the move! And we have proof! Apparently the cool thing at school is to have a Fitbit. Keags has been begging for one but I wasn't interested in shelling out the money. After I found an amazing deal on them, I was happy to see she was still motivated for it and worked very hard earning the money for it! I was really proud of her for raising $60.00 working for me, Nana and even Sa! Riley also earned some money so she could get one when her sister did. And they LOVE them!

On a Fitbit the goal is always to get 10,000 steps in a day. The first day Riley wore hers happened to be a long Friday that started with running club and she got almost 20,000 Steps with her little legs! And the Friday that we ran that race Keagan ended the day with 24,000 steps! See? We've definitely been busy!!

Cowgirls and Racers

Ok get ready for some serious picture overload! And they are crazy cute pictures too! This past Friday sure was a fun, full, furious and fantastic day!

Our first big event was the 1st Annual Mahaffey Hoe Down to celebrate Go Texan day! This is one of my very favorite Texas traditions! Of course Keags and Rys both looked darling in their pink cowgirl gear! Riley participated with the 1st Graders and was SO excited! She did some dancing, had some great help from Mrs Akers and Ms Acosta and smiled and waved through the whole thing! Keagan seriously stole the show with all the 2nd graders! She danced at 150% and had the most fun there! The girl was born with rhythmn and sure knows how to break it down! Several other parents commented on her enthusiasm and called her the life of the party! I couldn't love them both any more and enjoyed joining each of them for the cha cha slide! They both had an amazing time with their friends and Keagan especially loved the partner dancing with her friend Brody! All of our favorite part was that Gramas came to watch and brought sweet LaBelle too!

After school we were on to our next big event! We didn't even go home first. With 45 other members of the Speedy Scotties, our running club at school, Keagan and Riley ran the Pathfinder 2K Family Fun run in conjunction with the Woodlands Marathon! They all did so as part of the Junior Marathoner program which meant their miles ran at running club counted towards running a marathon in miles! So once the girls completed the 2k they received the 2k medal AND the official Woodlands Marathon finisher medal! This was a big accomplishment for both girls and I was SO proud of them and inspired by both! I walked/jogged with Miss Riley and she gave it such a good effort! We had to wait quite some time to start the race after a seriously long day so Miss Riley was literally falling asleep waiting! But once we started she tried her very best. At one point she sat down on the curb and then a sweet race official came and said "she ran her race." She ended up conpleting 3/4 of the course and did it in style! Miss Keagan ran the entire way with her besties Lauren and Audrey along with Miss Krenek. I was SO proud of her awesome finish!

I gotta say, my two girls are pretty dang amazing! They amaze me all the time like when we walked to the car late Friday night and Keagan's Fitbit showed she had walked almost 26,000 steps and she was still skipping! I sure love them and loved our low key weekend after such an incredible but seriously exhausting Friday!
