Tis the Season

Why is December's to do list SO crazy?! All I want to do is look at Christmas lights and watch Christmas movies. But I have so much to do! I'm running out of room on my weekly to do list so I can't even add little things I've already done like I usually do. But we are really trying hard to enjoy the season and more importantly focus on our Savior!

Cute Christmas outfits from Gamas.

Ridiculous elf ears on my car. The things I do for these girls!

On Saturday we got the outside nativity, big wreath and mail box garland set up in beautiful weather!

And all the decorations up!

Including my favorite Christmas decorations which are the Fisher Price and Sa's home made block nativity! Keagan loves to play with them. The camel and donkey have already gotten married and baby Jesus has been in time out!

The tree is only half way finished but I love it in a sweet lights are out and it's decorated completely by two six year olds kind of way.

Christmas cards have been sent!

And we are doing great on our daily acts of service as gifts to Jesus Christ!

Tis the season! Now back to that to do list.

Odds and Ends

Just some odds and ends pictures that I wanted on my blog. A compilation of a little of this and a little of that from the last couple of weeks.

My new prized possession! A shadow box with the miracle babies newborn things. I'm their mom and I'm still amazed at how little they were!

Kellie is so sweet about doing Keagan's hair! Sometimes she curls it and sometimes she straightens it. Either way it's always cuter then when I do it.

Somebody has been naughty lately! Tantrums have gone up a notch, which means so have time outs! Problem is that she doesn't particularly mind time out and will sometimes put herself there!

Cousin time over Thanksgiving break!

Some seriously good times! Fall leaves in Gamas back yard and making s'mores for the very first time at the Cooks house! Look at those faces!

Riley has been sick. Hopefully we are now on the mend. Love how she makes herself comfortable!

And I love free entertainment! After Addie and Kellie's piano recital the girls had way too much fun at the storage unit!

Little Beatin Heart

Riley had Cardiology today. She cried almost the entire one hour trip to TCH. But she was so brave during the LONG visit. Even for the ECHO which she usually doesn't like very much.

One of the main things we are looking at is her hearts Ejection Fraction which is the measurement of how much of the blood her left ventricle is pumping out with each contraction. 55 to 70 is normal. When Riley's heart was really sick, her EF was 21. At an EF of 19 we would have started talking about a transplant. But for over three years, after her miracle heart recovery, her EF has been 65. Today her EF was 55.

55 is still (barely) within the normal range, so it is not too concerning. But it is puzzling as to why it changed by so much. We will go back to Cardiomyopathy Clinic in 6 months to be evaluated again.

So not good news or bad news. Just more news. And more doctors, tests and discussions. After too many hours there I figured we had both earned a little fun! So we had a great time snuggling on the Herman Park Train on this cool day as a little treat!

Shhh, don't tell Keagan!

24 Days of Christmas

For our weekly Monday night Family Home Evening tonight we talked about the real meaning of Christmas and how our Savior gave us the greatest gift. It is quite adorable to hear a six year old's cute versions of the stories of Jesus!

We decided for the next 24 days before Christmas we are going to do acts of service to give as gifts back to our Savior. We will mark each day's service acts on one of these gift tags and hang them all on the wall together.

Then as a little extra bonus, the girls will get chocolate from the traditional advent calendar if they've done their service. Tonight's service was giving Nana some small gifts and some extra love. Can't wait to see what else we will accomplish in the next 23 days!

And yes, in case you were wondering Riley is wearing her Halloween costume in the picture. She definitely wears it to sleep every night because you know I love laundry. Maybe laundry can be one of the days of service! I wish!
